Calendula plant

As a beauty therapist I often get asked how to soothe irritating skin conditions that flare up from time to time. Lucky Eminence has lots of options to choose from that heal the skin effectively, but there is one star ingredient that has been my go–to for years that I use and recommend frequently. It is the unique healing properties of Calendula which I have had the most success in soothing my friend’s skins with. Calendula is truly the miracle worker of the skin, whether a person has lumps or bumps, scabs that won’t heal, eczema, athlete’s foot, acne or even the random rash. Its healing properties allow good skin penetration and soothes dry skin that may be cracked and flaking, making it a more effective moisturiser. Calendula is antiseptic, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and promoting of epethelization which makes it an effective an excellent wound healer. Epithelialization is a critical element referring to the skin’s ability to knit itself back together. When skin heals faster normal skin function is returned and discomfort and itching disappears.

It has been proven over thousands of years that everything we need for healing is found in nature. Scientists can’t find the ‘miracle’ ingredient in calendula that makes it such an effective wound healer, it is not in fact one ‘miracle’ ingredient, but a combination of elements in the plant that work together to create an effective result on the skin. Calendula is also helpful for treating bee stings, abscesses, nappy rash, skin ulcers, warts, chicken pox, and shingles.
