Can you feel the love? I don’t know if it’s just me, but there seems to be a huge shift happening since last year and an explosion of health / love / self help gurus around. I’m not talking about the flippy ‘hippies’ of the past I’m talking about more and more, intelligent, skilled and educated people sharing their knowledge, skills and expertise on their own private blog platforms. All around me I feel the sweetness and light of the love pouring from these blogs, they help me with my health goals, personal growth goals and keep me motivated. It’s not just blogs, but YouTube clips, Facebook feeds, everywhere there is the message of love. So this Valentine’s Day I’ll be celebrating the abundance of love in the world.
In this spirit, one of biggest lessons I’ve learnt this year is to take care of yourself and get yourself right before handing advice out to everyone else, you’re no good exhausted and worn out to anyone. To assist you in doing this I suggest taking some time out for yourself to relax, treat yourself, draw a bath, read a book or meditate on the first part of the year so far. How have you done? Have you achieved in keeping to goals you thought about over New Year? How can you get back on track? Remember it doesn’t matter what happened today, it’s done, start again tomorrow. What small thing can you change from yesterday? On Valentine’s Day you might even want to share it with someone special.
Beyond the love I’m also delighted to see a huge push for organic products, it’s gaining so much momentum that big companies like Johnson and Johnson are being forced to remove the petrochemicals from their products over the next 2 years. It will be a slow process and I’m interested to see what ‘safe’ alternatives they come up with to meet their budget, but it makes a path for real change, which should be celebrated. Last year France passed in a bill to parliament to ban all parabens in products manufactured there, Denmark has already banned it for children’s products. Here in Australia we are banning all sunbeds with bills passed in most states starting 2014. Then of course there are leading organic brands in the world who have known the secrets to good skin health for decades, but I’m glad the rest of the world is catching up!
But back to your relaxing moment. Have you seen our new ‘Spa at Home’ section of the website? You can find it here.
Perfect Bath Ritual ~
Run the bath using a few pumps of the body wash in the water. Light the candles and dry body brush before getting in the bath. Cleanse your face, exfoliate and apply the Chocolate Mousse Hydration Masque. Get out of the bath and use the sugar scrub all over your body, get back in the bath to rinse the sugar scrub off, also rinse off the facial masque. When ready get out of the bath apply your tonique, serum and moisturiser to your face and smother your body with the Naseberry Body Lotion. Get into some snugly pyjamas, and get cosy on the couch or in bed with a good book. Enjoy!
