When was the last time you saw yourself naked, or at least in your underwear? Yep, I can’t remember either; it’s far too cold in the middle of winter! In fact, I couldn’t even tell you what my skin on my arms and legs looks like right now. Now that we are aware we’ve been covering ourselves up for quite a while it’s time to address the situation. Turn on those heat lights in the bathroom, run a hot bath and give your skin some much needed attention!
Mostly likely it’ll look scaly, flaky and dull, unless you’ve been good keeping up your moisturising routine. Winter skin still needs exfoliating, using a sugar scrub in the shower or bath would be warmer than standing in your underwear dry body brushing, even once a week is better than not at all.
What you eat matters to winter skin! Keep eating things like avocados and oily fish in the winter months; these aren’t just summer time foods! It will help plump up your cells from the inside out, and keep you healthy and glowing! Don’t forget to drink water either! Even though it’s colder and we’re not sweating, doesn’t mean you don’t need to stay hydrated.
Using a moisturiser that has a natural exfoliator also assists in turning over those cells and keeps your skin deeply hydrated. Moisturisers that contain shea butter also provide deep hydration, this includes hand creams and lip balms.
