Out they come, scarves, beanies and all the gorgeous coats, boots and fabulous winter fashions. When rugging up this winter, don’t just look to change your wardrobe, your skin care routine needs to change too. For most of us, dry skin is our main source of grief during winter. The low humidity, heaters and cold winds are moisture-stripping conditions for our epidermis (top skin layer) – resulting in dry, flaky and lacklustre skin.
But some simple changes to your skin routine will work to replenish and rehydrate your skin, soothing away the winter skin blues.
1. Turn up the moisture
Shelve the lightweight summer moisturiser and bring out the winter warriors! Try our rich night cream, Linden Calendula Treatment Cream. With extracts from linden and calendula plants, it deeply hydrates the skin and enriches the skin with moisture. It’s perfect for use with mature, very dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin types and will give your skin the moisture-kick it needs to combat winter dryness.
2. Bring in the masqued crusader
Go in with the big guns and treat your skin to regular nourishment with hydrating masques. Hyaluronic Acid is your friend this winter as it combats dehydrated and dry looking skin. A key ingredient in our Strawberry Rhubarb Masque, hyaluronic acid attracts water from the environment to improve the moisture levels in your skin’s dermal structure. Another humectant that attracts and locks moisture inside your skin is honey, and our Apricot Masque is a favourite for calming eczema and hydrating areas of dry skin.
3. Try a peel
Get rid of those dead skin cells and allow your skin to absorb more moisture by using a peel. Our Yam & Pumpkin Enzyme Peel not only will leave your skin looking more radiant and fresh, it will also help to increase the circulation in your skin and improve the turnover of your skin cells.
Or, try our Arctic Berry Peel - Peptide System. Made from berries that can handle the winter elements, it’s specially formulated to reduce the appearance of skin irritation and inflammation. The three-step system exfoliates, activates and illuminates – think of it like the perfect gloves, scarf and beanie combo for your skin in winter!
4. Be body-loving
In winter, it’s not only your face that needs some extra care and attention – your body needs love too! Try the exfoliating qualities of our Naseberry Cranberry Yogurt Body Wash with the hydrating benefits of our Coconut Firming Body Lotion.

5. Work from the inside out
Fight winter skin symptoms from the inside by filling up on healthy fats to help maintain your skin’s natural oil barrier and protect against further moisture loss. Who doesn’t love nuts, salmon and avocados? Also, avoid going overboard on hot drinks like coffee because they have a dehydrating effect on your body. Switch it out with herbal teas or even warm water with a slice of lemon makes a delicious cup of winter warm up!
