5 Ways Eminence Organics is Eco-Friendly
As we celebrate Earth Day, let’s take a moment and also celebrate our combined efforts in building a sustainable future. With the help of our valued customers and spa partners, we have now planted more than 20 million trees through our Forests for the Future initiative. In addition to planting a tree for every product sold, we also honour our commitment to finding earth-friendly solutions in every aspect of our business. From our green office spaces around the world, to our sustainable farming practices in Hungary, being green is at the heart of what we do.
If you’ve ever wondered how our company stays environmentally conscious and embraces eco-friendly practices, here’s an overview of what we do to make every day Earth Day.
Eminence Organics Eco-Friendly Initiatives
1. We plant a tree for every product sold!
Eminence Organics, in partnership with Trees For The Future, plants a tree for every retail skin care product sold, allowing us to support communities in developing countries. The Forests For The Future initiative helps train farmers to build productive and sustainable crops and farms. This helps local communities grow their own food and build sustainable incomes for their families. Our program has resulted in the planting of trees in more than 22 countries around the world as well as the support of countless communities and families.
Astonishingly, a single tree can produce approximately 260 pounds of oxygen per year. Trees help lower air temperature to combat climate change while stabilising the soil by preventing erosion through their roots. They also contribute to the fertility of land through nitrogen fixation and increasing water penetration.
2. Eminence Certified Organic Farm
We are proud to provide the best natural, organic and Biodynamic® skin care with premium ingredients grown at the Certified Organic Farm, organic farms in Hungary and sources worldwide. In fact, one of our staff at the farm, Matyas Nemes, won Hungary’s Organic Farmer of the Year by the Biokultura Association. Each one of our organic products carries organic certification by Biokontroll in Hungary. Our passion includes using cold pressed ingredients to capture the regenerative properties of the seed, pulp and plant skins in their most potent form. Not only do we work with the purest natural, organic and Biodynamic® ingredients at Eminence Organics, we also make sure we avoid any harsh and harmful chemicals.
Our farm-to-face philosophy means we create skin care products that are good for the planet as well as good for the skin. We choose ingredients that are sustainably grown and harvested, minimising environmental impact. Powered by solar and wind energy, our ingredient farms use eco-friendly methods of production, creating skin care products that reflect our commitment to being a Certified B Corporation.
3. Proud to be a Certified B Corporation®
We have met the highest verified standards for overall social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Certified B Corporations are businesses that work towards corporate responsibility that balances profit and purpose. This certification measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance with the B Impact Assessment evaluating how a company’s operations and business model affects its workers, community, environment and customers.
4. Eco-Friendly Packaging: Retail Boxes
Our retail boxes are printed with eco-friendly inks and made from recyclable material, while the majority of our marketing materials are made with FSC certified materials. FSC identifies products which are made of 100% virgin material from FSC-certified forests. These labels provide you with an assurance that the products you are buying are made from responsible sources and have been verified to meet FSC’s strict environmental and social standards.
5. Sustainable Shipping Materials & Corn Starch Packaging
When it comes to our shipping materials, and even the paper we use in our offices, we turn to natural plant sources first. We use a combination of biodegradable packing fill and recycled paper and card when shipping our products. Our cardboard shredder turns scrap cardboard into environmentally friendly packing, replacing the majority of bubble wrap, styrene, and craft paper in our mailer boxes. Our packing corn is made from biodegradable corn starch that dissolves into water as non-toxic and non-hazardous waste. We are proud to be now using paper tape, instead of plastic, to secure all our outgoing deliveries.
